Community Midwives
The midwives hold clinics each week to provide patients with antenatal care. To contact the midwives phone 01273 664794 between 10:00 and 16:00 weekdays or 01273 664794 (Royal Sussex County Hospital - Level 13) at other times.
Book your care
It’s important to book your care early in your pregnancy. Many of the screening tests we offer need to be done before you are 13 weeks pregnant. Please visit the University Hospitals Sussex website to book
Community Nurses
The nurses care for patients in their own homes when they are too ill or frail to attend surgery. They also offer support to families and carers. They are experts in the field of wound care, leg ulcers and the care of the chronic and terminally ill. They are also happy to give advice on health matters and liaise with other agencies and services.
Please phone 01273 260034 between 08:00 and 09:30 and 14:30 and 16:30 to contact them or leave a message on their answerphone. To speak to a nurse urgently Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:30, call 01273 260010. At all other times, including bank holidays, call 01273 693600.
Health Visitors
Health visitors from the community under five team are specialist nurses who provide advice on healthcare particularly to expectant mothers, babies and young children. They can be contacted on 01273 295803 and they also have regular clinics at the following:
- Hollingdean Children’s Centre Monday 10:00 to 11:30
- Preston Park Children’s Centre Thursday 09:30 to 11:00 (term time only) Contact 01273 295803 between 09:00 to 12:00 for details.
Counsellors
A counselling service is offered to patients in the practice. Your doctor will refer you to counselling if you both think that it is appropriate. We also have access to community psychiatric nurses, and the duty worker.
