Named GP

You may be aware that all practices are required to provide all their patients with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that their surgery provides to them.  All patients registered at Stanford Medical Centre already have a named GP though this may not be the GP that you regularly see, or have ever seen.

Your named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that we provide to you. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice but it is important to maintain continuity of care by seeing the same doctor wherever possible.

You do not need to take any further action, but if you have any questions, or wish to discuss this further with us, please contact us at the above numbers or email us at

Please note that our GP's may have to work at other branches to cover sickness, annual leave and branch closures.
